* The cornerstone for Bonanzarad’s flourishing in the 1970s was laid – as is often the case – in the United States. In the early sixties, children there began to supply bicycles with parts for motorcycles, such as seats or handlebars. The first bicycles based on this trend appeared in Germany in the mid-1960s. Only a Neckermann ordering company made a real breakthrough in Germany. This sold a bicycle called “Bonanza”, which was produced by the Kinast company. One of the models of this type of bicycle was the famous “Montana”, with a slim frame and a rear cassette with a 5-speed gearbox.
